Jerry's latest ditty is a private release destined for a couple of juke boxes in Louisiana and mutual friends of Murray, a drinking buddy and papa-san who passed away recently.
Not To Worry
As I sit here and drink, I don’t know what to think,
About these crazy times.
My argument partner ain’t here anymore
To make me mad about how often he was right.
But he cared enough to holler at me and try to smarten me up.
And for that I raise my glass in the air,
I miss Murray, but he told me not to worry,
‘Cause everything’s gonna get worse
Well he’d lean back his head and start batting his eyes and say,
“Hold up, hold up a minute.”
While he gave himself time to make up some new lies.
And step a little deeper in it.
But that goofy grin and crazy stuff that he’d say,
Would help me laugh my troubles away
I miss Murray, but he told me not to worry,
‘Cause everything’s gonna get worse
He was the man to see if under the Christmas tree,
You wanted a VCR box full of bricks.
Life it has no guarantees, sold absolutely as is.
And for used lawnmowers you had it made in the shade,
As long as you didn’t mind having no blade.
Yeah we all miss Murray, but he told us not to worry,
‘Cause everything’s gonna get worse,
Before
It gets better
It gets better
It gets better
It gets better
